Busy days

So much has been going on around here lately, I haven't even been able to find the time to update my blog. Kristian's team took first place in the NSC cup tournament playing up at U16, and they also took first place at their age in the State of MN!! We attended my youngest brothers high school graduation party, what a awesome young man! I'm so proud of him. My grandmother passed away last week. It was a grandmother that I barely knew but stirred up so many emotions in me...it was a very trying week. I went to the visitation alone and Chad and the girls came with for the funeral. It was Kristian's last day of school and he had finals so he couldn't come with. I figured Sena could miss since she is only in middle school. My dad had asked me to do a reading at the funeral so I felt like I needed to wear a dress (I have none!) so I spent 24 hours running around making sure we all had what we needed to wear. That is stressful! Everything went well and I am so thankful for the reconnection with my "other" family. Our weekend was filled with dance pictures, a dance recital, an engagement/new house party at my brother Noah's, and Jenna's sisters graduation. I honestly feel like I have never been so crazy busy in my entire life. I am thankful for today...a day of no running around, all of my kids home with me.

Coming up...this week...Sena has three soccer games and a tournament all weekend. Kristian has four practices and a scrimmage. I am planning and packing for next week when we head to South Dakota for Kristian's regional games. We are camping it! So just in case you thought things were going to slow down around here anytime soon...think again!

Tonight Chad had soccer practice for Senas team a few miles from our house. It ended at 7:30 and when I still saw no sign of my family at 7:50 I started sending out text messages. Sena is the only one that replied, heres how it went;

Our convo via text;

Me: Are you guys coming home yet?
Sena: No
Me: Why not???
Sena: Idk (I dont know)
Me: What are you doing?
Sena: Nothin
Me: Whats dad doing?
Sena: Walking 2 the car
Me: To come home?
Sena: I think so
Sena: Nope dont think so
Me: Oh my gosh! Do you know ANYTHING child?
Sena: No! I was kidding we r on our way home
Me: Seriously?!?
Sena: No

Darn kids.

Soccer season

Soccer season is in full swing around here. At least one of the kids has soccer everyday. All the time. Im exhausted already. Here are a few pics of Sena playing in her first game. (I was lucky that night...Kristians practice got cancelled at the last minute so I actually was able to go watch Senas game!)

Ri's new swing

We have outgrown the baby swing :( so it was time for a new "big girl" swing. We already have two lounging swings on the deck that we all enjoy and now thanks to daddy Ri has her own. She loves it and is not happy today that it is rainy and her swing is all wet!

4,000 miles, 14 states, 11 days!

We just returned home from a fabulous spring break road trip! We spent time in rainy Virginia for a soccer tournament. We spent a day in Washington D.C. We spent two amazing days at a resort in Palm Coast, Florida. We ended the trip with an amazing day at Disney!

Highlights of the trip:
Switching hotels in Virginia from a horrible stinky Days Inn to a fabalous room at Embassy Suites!
Sleeping with our door cracked listening to the waves crash in the ocean all night!
Walking on the beach early in the morning looking for sea shells.
Showering (never running out of hot water!) with grapefruit soap key lime shampoo and oatmeal soap!
Swimming in the pools and ocean! The big kids were very brave and swim way out catching waves!
Disney World! Rilynns face as she met the princess' was priceless! The fireworks are amazing! We had perfect weather and a magical day!
Driving through the beautiful mountains in Georgia

Things we learned:
Three year olds have to go potty...A LOT! Stopping on the side of the road...not an option!
People down south are very hard to understand. Youd think you stepped into another country.
Swam at your own risk at the ocean...you just might fall into a big hole and scrape up your intire leg! (Sena)
There is nobody on the roads from about 2-5 am. When you see someone they just might be driving down the wrong side of the road watch out!
Water tastes the best when it is served to you poolside with a fresh orange slice!
If you want a half of grapefruit for breakfast at a fancy resort you will pay $4 for it!
