One of those days

Today has been one of those days that I cant seem to find the joy in anything. I have been thinking to myself all day that I need a blog called "the real truth". Instead of all this pretty stuff about how wonderful everything is, the real truth about how hard life is. About how frustrating and lonely being a wife and mother can be. About how mad I am that my own parents don't seem to care about my existence. About how sick and tired I am of having no money. About how I cant even believe that we are considering selling our house and buying a townhouse to help free up some money, and how Chad is happy about it. About how rude and cruel and ignorant other people can be. About how mean my own children, who I have given every bit of me for, can be to me. Everything, all the icky stuff that gets sugar coated. I hope that tomorrow will be a better day, it has to be.

What a goalie

Sena broke her finger a while back so she has been playing on the field instead of the net, but tonight she played goalie. She is so tough out there and can punt the whole field. Pretty cool. They won 3-2. Rilynn and her little soccer friend, Sophia wore their matching skirt sets that I made for them. They were so cute together!

A walk in the garden

Confessions...

This picture was taken in 2003 at a friends house in Alexandria on a weekend getaway (Katie, this is in your driveway, remember?)

I have to confess that the last two days I have spent much of the afternoon sitting in Ri's little pink plastic pool soaking up the sun. The past two days have been 80's and sunshine, finally! I have not been sewing and my house is a disaster! About the only things I miss from my 20's is being thin and tan, I kinda miss that car too! Now if I could just come up with a workout routine to do in the kiddie pool, I'd be set!

The boys headed to Indiana over the weekend for a soccer tournament and us girls stayed home and had a "girls weekend". As much as it killed me to not go to the tournament I knew that the girls did not want to sit in the car for 9 hours there and back. It was a beautiful weekend so we spent a bit of time outdoors. Sena had a friend over Friday night and Saturday. On Saturday we got up and went to the river and had a picnic breakfast. We brought Ri's bike and walked the path and hiked around looking for rocks. I hadn't realized how much fun Rilynn had until she talked to daddy on the phone later telling him all about it. Saturday night we went to the movies and saw Kung Fu Panda. Not a great movie but it was something to do. On Sunday I had invited my dad to have a picnic at a park that we used to go to as kids, he declined, but I decided to take the girls there anyways. When I was a kid we lived by Redwood pool in AV. Behind the pool is a park, some paths and a pond. I call it the turtle pond because as dirty and mucky as that pond is, it is always full of turtles. Sena tried her best catch one but really, you do not want to step a foot into that gross pond! Ri enjoyed searching for them, mama ones, daddy ones, baby ones.

I also managed over the weekend to sew an outfit for my niece sew some placemats for a wedding gift, mow the lawn, and do some gardening. Overall it was a great weekend!

Happy Fathers Day Chad!

I have been going through photos of you and the kids trying to pick my favorite "daddy" photos there are so many it was hard to choose! I picked the ones that remind me of what a gentle loving father that you are to our children. We are blessed. Even though we cant spend the day with you we love you! Have a wonderful fathers day!

Dance weekend

We had a busy weekend full of DANCE instead of soccer for a change. The girls both take dance class once a week throughout the school year. They practice their recital routines for months getting ready for the big day. Sena has been dancing since she was three, so we have been doing this for a while. I was not going to sign Ri up for dance this year but all the big girls talked me into it. I do think that she learned allot over the year but I still think that she is just too young. She refused to dance! She pouted through dance pictures on Saturday and cried through the rehearsal on Sunday morning. She stood there on stage for the recital with the most terrified look on her face. (I was right there next to her) Kirsten came to take pictures and even though they were not the kind of pictures I was hoping for I know that someday when we look back they will be just as precious as if she were smiling. Sena danced awesome as usual. It was strange this year to watch Sena dancing she has grown up so much in the last year she looks so old up there! She is the tallest in her class and the most grown up looking. I remember when she was just a little peanut dancing for the first time it just goes too fast!

Overall it was a great weekend but I am glad it is done and over. Thank you Kristen for coming to take pictures your the best!
