Crafting

Friday again. I cant believe how time flies these days. Grandma (my mom) stayed a night with us this week to do some sewing projects with me. We have had fabric to "do up" Rilynns room for months and months and have done nothing with it yet. Mom is an expert sewer (if that is a word) I so wish that I had that talent! We end up just mending some things and making Ri a little socer dress. It turned out sweet! Someday we will get to the curtans! I have been making hair clips to go with Rilynns outfit, and even some little knee high button socks. I even made soccer balls buttons! I have to keep busy doing something until spring shows up. I sure hope that is soon!

Over already?

I cant believe how fast the weekend went! The temp was finally in the 30's so we did spend some much needed time outside playing in the snow. We got all ready to go walking in the woods this morning but never actually made it out the door! We were too busy chasing each other and wrestling around playing! Kristian had a ton of homework and reading to do so today I helped him read the diary of Anne Frank. After each journal entry he had to write a paragraph to sum it up. I don't know that I had ever read that book, although I knew "about" Anne Frank. Such sad and scary times she as a young girl had to endure, yet she was so wise for her years. This paragraph stuck out to me the most. " The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely, or un-happy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet alone with the heavens, nature, and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature. As long as this exists, and it certianly always will, I know that then there will always be comfort for every sorrow, whatever the circumstances may be. And I firmly believe that nature brings solace in all troubles." Anne Frank 2/23/1944 Tonight we attended a benefit for a 7 month old little guy from Hasting that has cancer. I helped to sell tickets for it without much success, so I was so pleased at the turnout. Lots of people donated auction items and food items for the bake sale. Many people came out to support this family, that made me so happy! I hope they felt the love! I am so thankful for good health in my family, I know that could change at any moment. Today is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it! We never know what tomorrow holds... Be thankful for the here and now! I have to go tend to the little one on the potty.... "mommy, come wipe me!"

My loves...

We had a great weekend just hanging out together. We only had soccer on Friday and the rest of the weekend off. Saturday we went to see the Spiderwick movie. Sena had read all the books this year and really wanted to see it. It was ok, too scary for little miss Ri, mom had to cover her eyes alot! Sunday we got to hang out with grandma and grandpa, and the big kids got to see thier cousins. Kristian and Andrew both got the game Rock Band, it hasnt been quiet here since! Daddy and Rilynn had alot of fun playing and chasing each other around last night. She dosent always want daddy, but its so sweet when she does.

Beautiful Roses... thanks hunny!

Although we didnt all get to eat together, Kristian had a late basketball game, we had a fab dinner! A little taste of summer, beer burgers ( on the stove, not grill) tator tots, and chocolate malts with whipped cream! YUMMY! Dad brought home roses for all three of his girls, so sweet, and even some chocolate for mom. Rilynn later said with a scowl, " I didnt want flowers, I wanted a mermaid!" I guess she doesnt appreciate the flower thing yet!

Happy Valentines Day!!

I read today that more suicides happen on the 13th and 14th of February than any other day. That is so sad. I really dont get much out of Valentines Day, but the kids like it. Rilynn thought it was so much fun to give out cards (and suckers) to all of her little friends at "school" and dance class. She had the biggest smile on her face as her bag filled up with goodies! She said "oh mama, this is so fun!". Isnt that sweet? Sena got to go ice skating with her class today and come back for hot cocoa in her classroom. How fun is that? Today Ri and I made some special valentines for Dad, Kristian and Sena. We hope they like them!

Where to start?

Ok, I am going to give this blogging thing a shot. I thought it would be a great way to look back, reflect and be thankful for all that we have and do in this life! We will see how it goes!

Here is my little fairy princess eating her breakfast!
